Ageing in Kensington, London, UK

‘The Methods Lab’ is a weeklong design Lab conducted by Yanki every year since 2008 on behalf of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at the Royal College of Arts, in London. Each year over 40 art and design students work in 4 interdisciplinary teams and are asked to design creative events to engage people with disability and those from a range of age groups.

The theme, ‘Ageing in Kensington’ was introduced in 2010 and two Methods Labs were conducted under this theme. Liesbeth Huybrechts from Faculty of Art and Architecture (FAK) at the University of Leuven and the Media, Art & Design Faculty (MAD) in Genk, Belgium brought her students to London for the past two years.
